One of South Africa’s best kept secrets.
A place where you will be humbled.
A place where you will feel privileged.
A place to remind you of what is truly important in life.
Welcome to Pondoland
It is rare to find a province that is the centre of endemism which is one of only three biodiversity hotspots within South Africa. Home to a rich history and a kaleidoscope of cultural heritage, the Wild Coast forms the northern section of an area known as Pondoland which falls under the rule of the Eastern Cape provincial government.
Rugged sandstone cliffs, layered with rolling grass lands, teeming with game that plunge into aqua blue waters and ivory coloured beaches below, Pondoland is a hidden paradise and a largely undiscovered Garden of Eden – ravines where birds of prey soar, waterfalls roar, and endemic fauna cling, this is a place where one comes to reflect and refresh. A place where you will be humbled, feel privileged and reminded of what is truly important in life.
The Msikaba camp is built unobtrusively inside indigenous coastal dune forest where one has immediate access to the vast, open beach and to the phenomenal Msikaba river.
Luphuthana is undoubtedly our wildest and most adventurous camp. A fantastic location to a host of magnificent escapes in the nearby vicinity.
This piece of heaven offers your family a blissful holiday alongside your own private beach and estuary. The warm river mouth is the ultimate playground for kids and adults alike.
“With Pondo Beach Camps you’ll get the rare chance to get back to basics , reset and connect with yourself and nature in a way that has truly become foreign to us in our busy lives.”
